Gottschee
Gottschee is a special place that used to be in Europe, but now it's in America. A long time ago, people from a place called Gottschee (pronounced "got-sheh") in Slovenia decided to leave and go to America for a better life.
When they got to America, they started a new town called "Gottschee" in Cleveland, Ohio. They wanted their new town to be like their old town, so they built houses and churches that looked just like the ones back home.
Even though they were in a new place, the people of Gottschee still kept their old traditions and spoke their old language called Gottscheerisch. They also made sure to teach their kids about their history and their culture so that they wouldn't forget where they came from.
Today, Gottschee is still a special place where people can learn about the history and traditions of the Gottschee people. Even though the people have moved away from their old town in Slovenia, they can still keep their culture alive in their new home in America.
