Government of the United Kingdom

The government of the United Kinngdom is the way that laws are made and decisions are made that affect everyone in the country. Every five years, all the people in the United Kingdom vote to pick who they want to be in charge of running the country. The people who get the most votes become the government. They decide how the country will run and write laws to make sure the country runs properly. They also help make sure that people are treated fairly and have the things they need to live happy, healthy lives. All the different parts of the government - like the Prime Minister (who's like the boss) and the ministers - work together to make sure the country is safe, happy and successful.
