Government spending

Okay, so imagine you have some money you got from your parents. You want to buy some fun toys and candy, but your parents tell you that you have to save some of the money for important things like clothes and school supplies. This is kind of like government spending.

The government is like the parent of a whole country. They have a lot of money that they get from all the people who live in the country. They have to use that money for important things to make sure everyone is safe, healthy, and happy.
