ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Governor-General of Barbados

Okay, imagine you're playing a game with your friends and they give you a very important job to do, like being the leader of the game. That's sort of what being the governor-general of Barbados is like.

Barbados is a small island country in the Caribbean, and the governor-general is like the leader of that country. They have a few different jobs, but the most important one is making sure that the country follows the rules of the bigger group it's part of, which is called the Commonwealth.

The governor-general is chosen by the Queen of England (who is like the boss of the Commonwealth), but they usually come from Barbados themselves. They wear fancy clothes and have a big fancy house to live in, but they also have to work very hard to help make Barbados a good place to live for everyone who lives there.

So basically, the governor-general of Barbados is like the leader of a really important island country, who helps make sure the country follows the rules and works to make it a better place for everyone who lives there.
