Governor-General of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland

Okay, so imagine you and your friends want to play a game but you can’t agree on the rules. So you decide to ask an adult to help you make the rules and keep everyone playing fair. This is kind of like what the Governor-General did in the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland.

Rhodesia and Nyasaland used to be separate countries in Africa, but they decided to work together and become one big country called a federation. The Governor-General was like the adult in charge of the game.

They were chosen by the British government and their job was to make sure everyone in the federation was playing fair and following the rules. They also had to help the leaders of the individual countries work together to make important decisions for the whole federation.

It was a very important job because the Governor-General had a lot of power and influence. They could make decisions that would affect everyone in the federation, and they had to be fair and thoughtful when making those decisions.

If there was ever a disagreement or problem, the Governor-General was the one who would have to step in and help sort things out. It was a big responsibility, but it was also an important job that helped keep the federation running smoothly.
