ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Grand and General Council

Okay kiddo, let me explain what Grand and General Council is all about. Imagine you have a club that you are in with your friends. You all have rules and things you want to do, right? Now, imagine that the club is bigger and there are more people in it who also have rules and things they want to do.

That's what Grand and General Council is like. It's a big group of people who make important decisions for a whole country, like Italy or Switzerland. They have a list of rules called a constitution that tells everyone how things should be done in that country. Some of the people in the Grand and General Council are elected by the citizens of the country, just like your class president is elected by your classmates.

When they get together, they talk about important things that affect everyone in the country, like laws and taxes. They listen to different ideas from different people and then they make decisions about what's best for everyone. It's a big responsibility because they have to make sure that people follow the rules and are happy with what they decide.
