Graph (discrete mathematics)

A graph in math is like a picture of a bunch of dots and lines. The dots are called "vertices" and the lines are called "edges".

Imagine you have a group of friends and you want to draw a graph to show who is friends with who. Each person in your group of friends would be a vertex and you would draw a line between each pair of friends who are friends with each other.

For example, you might draw a line between you and your best friend, and another line between your best friend and their other friend. This would make a "triangle" shape on the graph.
