Graph cuts in computer vision

Graph cuts in computer vision are a type of mathematical tool that researchers use to solve complex problems. Basically, they take pictures (in computer vision) and try to cut out bits of information from them, like sections of objects, or parts of buildings. It's a lot like cutting out pieces of paper to make a shape, but instead of paper and scissors, they use algorithms and data. Graph cuts make it easier to figure out what a picture or scene is showing, without having to manually look at every single pixel.
