The Great Famine happened in Greece in the 1940s. It was a very difficult time, when there wasn't enough food to go around. This was because there was a drought and not enough rain, so crops weren't growing like they normally do. This meant people didn't have enough food in their homes and had to go without eating for a very long time. It was really sad, and many people were very sick and even died from being too hungry.
