Great Flood (China)

A long, long time ago in China, there was a big, big flood. It was so big that it covered the whole land with water. Many people and animals were drowned, and houses and crops were destroyed.

It started when the big river, called the Yellow River or Huang He, overflowed its banks. This means that the river became too full of water and the water spilled over onto the land around it.

The flood lasted for a very long time, and the people were worried that they would never be able to go back to their homes. But luckily, there was a wise old man named Yu the Great. He came up with a plan to tame the flood and save the people.

Yu the Great knew that he had to dig channels for the water to flow into. He worked very hard and dug many canals and dams. He also built walls along the river to stop the water from overflowing. He asked his people to help him, and they all worked together to tame the flood.

It was a difficult task, but they did it, and the flood finally went down. The people were so happy, and they celebrated with joyous songs and dances. Yu the Great became a hero because he saved the people from the Great Flood.

And that, my dear, is the story of the Great Flood in China.
