Green Energy Act, 2009

Okay kiddo, do you know what energy is? It's what makes things work - like when you turn on a light switch and the lightbulb turns on, that's energy. But sometimes we use energy that pollutes the environment and makes the air dirty. That's not good for the planet or for people's health. So, in 2009, the government in Ontario (which is a province in Canada) made a special law called the Green Energy Act to try and use more energy that is good for the environment.

The Green Energy Act encourages people and companies to use renewable energy. Renewable energy is like magic energy because it comes from things that never run out, like the sun, wind, and water. This kind of energy is good for the environment because it doesn't pollute or make the air dirty.

The Green Energy Act made it easier for companies and individuals to make their own renewable energy, like by putting solar panels on their roofs or installing wind turbines. It also created a way for these people and companies to sell any extra energy they make back to the government, which helps everyone save money on electricity bills.

Overall, the Green Energy Act is a law that helps the environment by encouraging people and companies to use renewable energy like wind and solar power.
