ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Grounding (metaphysics)

Grounding (metaphysics) means that different things exist in real or physical ways. It means that some things are really there, and some things are just ideas or thoughts. For example, if you had a toy car, that’s something that’s real and you could touch it and see it. But if you had an idea of a toy car, that’s something that’s not really there - it’s only in your mind. That’s an example of grounding.
