Groundwater recharge is the process of water entering the ground and getting stored underground. It is a very important process because it keeps our groundwater supplies full. When it rains, some of the water that falls on the ground soaks into the soil and makes its way down through the ground until it reaches groundwater reserves. The water then stays there and gets used by plants, animals, and people. Groundwater recharge is important because if the reserves run out, we won't have enough water to drink.
