ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Group of Seven

The Group of Seven (G7) is a club of seven countries that meet to talk about important things like what we can do to keep our planet healthy and how we can make sure everybody has the same opportunities to succeed. The countries in the group are Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

It's kind of like when you and your friends decide to make a club and you all have a special mission or goal in mind. The G7 has a pretty important job as they are leaders from some of the most powerful and influential countries in the world.

The leaders of these countries usually meet up in person once a year to talk about things that are important for their countries and the world as a whole. They talk about topics like trade, climate change, global health issues, and many others.

You might be wondering why they only have seven countries in the group, why not more? That's because these countries are some of the most powerful and are seen as leaders in the world. They have economies that are among the largest and most influential in the world, and they have a lot of power to make big changes.

So, the Group of Seven is like a group of friends who come together to talk about important things, but instead of just hanging out, they lead the world and work together to make it a better place.
