Grouped Dirichlet distribution

Imagine you have a bunch of toys to play with. Now imagine that you have to pick some toys to play with but only certain toys can be played with at the same time. This is called grouping.

The Grouped Dirichlet distribution is a way to group things or choices, and then pick from them based on how likely they are to be chosen.

For example, pretend you have a bunch of candies, but some of them are chocolate and some of them are fruit flavored. You can group them by flavor and then pick randomly from each group based on how likely you think it is that someone will choose that flavor.

The Grouped Dirichlet distribution helps us figure out how to group and choose things based on how likely they are to be chosen. It's like a set of rules that tells us how to group and choose things in a fair way.
