Gustaf de Laval
Gustaf de Laval was a man who lived a long time ago and he did some very interesting things that helped make life easier for people. He was born in Sweden in 1845 and he was very smart. When he was young, he went to a special school for people who are really smart.
One thing that Gustaf de Laval is really famous for is something called the "Laval nozzle". This is something that looks like a long tube with a smaller tube inside it. When air or steam flows through the tube, it goes faster and faster and comes out the end really fast.
