ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Gustafson's law

Gustafson's Law is a law that explains how a computer can be made to work very quickly. It says that if you take a computer and give it a bigger job - that is, a bigger task to finish - then the computer will be able to do it faster than if you gave it a smaller job. The bigger the job, the faster the computer will be able to do it. So in other words, the bigger the task, the more powerful the computer will be.
