Gyro (food)

Gyros are like a sandwich made with meat that's been cooked on a big spinning stick. Imagine a big stick that has lots of meat stacked on it like a tower of blocks, and then it's put on a spinning machine. As the stick spins around and around, the meat slowly cooks and gets crispy on the outside.

Once the meat is done cooking, someone takes a really sharp knife and shaves off thin slices of it. Then, the meat is put on a pita bread or flatbread and other yummy ingredients are added, like tomatoes, onions, and a sauce called tzatziki (which is made with yogurt, cucumber, and spices).

You can hold the gyro like a big taco and take bites, and all the flavors mix together in your mouth. It's a really yummy way to eat meat!
