ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

HUD (computing)

Okay kiddo, HUD stands for "Heads Up Display". It's like a helpful tool that pops up on your computer screen while you're doing something else. It's like a car dashboard that shows you important things while you focus on driving.

When you play a video game, you might see a HUD that shows your health, ammo, and other important stats. In other words, it helps you keep track of important information while you play.

HUDs can show up in lots of different places, but they're most common in video games and in military technology. They're really helpful because they make it easier to keep track of important data without distracting you from what you're doing.

Some HUDs can be customized, so you can choose which information you want to see. And some people even use HUDs in real life! For example, fighter pilots might use a HUD to help them fly their planes. Pretty cool, huh?
