Habitus (sociology)

Habitus is a term used in sociology (the study of people's behavior in society). It describes a certain set of attitudes and behaviors that all people in a particular society might have. For example, people in a certain culture might believe it is polite to greet others when you see them or to address people with titles like professor or doctor. These attitudes and behaviors become a part of the culture, making them "habitus".
