Hacks at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Hacking is when someone gets into a computer system without permission. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), people who like to hack computers will sometimes get together to try and find ways to break into computer systems. This can be done in lots of different ways, such as getting inside passwords, or tricking the computers into thinking they are something else. The people who do this are called “hackers” and they are usually very smart and knowledgeable about computers. They might use their skills to see if they can find a loophole in a system or find hidden information. It’s important to remember, though, that hacking is wrong and it’s against the law.
