Hagar in Islam

Hagar is an important figure in Islam. She was a woman who lived a long time ago and was the mother of Prophet Ishmael. According to Islamic tradition, Hagar was the wife of Prophet Ibrahim (or Abraham as he is known in Christianity and Judaism).

One day, Prophet Ibrahim was told by Allah (God) that he needed to leave his home and travel to a new land. Ibrahim and Hagar set out on this journey, but along the way they became very thirsty and tired.

In search of water, Hagar ran back and forth between two hills, Safa and Marwa, seven times. This became known as the "Sa'i," or the "running" part of the Hajj pilgrimage that Muslims make to Mecca.

Eventually, Allah provided water for Hagar and Ibrahim, and they settled in the new land. Later on, Allah blessed Hagar with a son, Ishmael. He would become a prophet and an important figure in Islam.

In Islam, Hagar is highly respected for her faith and determination. She faced many challenges but always trusted in Allah and remained obedient to Prophet Ibrahim. Her story serves as an inspiration to Muslims today, reminding them of the importance of patience, perseverance, and reliance on Allah.
