Hammerhead shark

Okay kiddo, today we are going to talk about a very unique shark, the hammerhead! Just like your hammer that you use to hit nails into wood, the hammerhead shark has a head that looks like a hammer!

But what makes the hammerhead shark so special is its head shape helps it find food. You see, the big flat part of its head has lots of sensors that help it sense where prey is hiding. The sensors pick up electrical signals from the tiny muscles in the prey's body, even if they are hiding in the sand!

The hammerhead shark, just like other sharks, has lots of sharp teeth to help it catch prey. It likes to eat fish, squid, crabs, and sometimes other sharks. But while it may look fierce, the hammerhead shark usually doesn't attack people unless it feels threatened.

Something else really cool about hammerhead sharks is that they like to swim in groups! This is called a school, just like when you go to school with your friends. Swimming in a school helps protect them from predators, and also makes it easier for them to find food.

So there you have it, the hammerhead shark is a really interesting shark with a head that looks like a hammer, lots of sensors to help it find food, and it likes to swim in groups!
