ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Haredi

So, imagine you have a group of people who want to live their lives in accordance with very traditional religious beliefs. That's what Haredi people are like - they're a group of Jewish people who want to follow the old ways of the religion as closely as possible.

They like to dress in traditional clothing, and they pray a lot every day. They also believe that men and women should lead separate lives and not mix too much, so you might see separate areas for men and women in Haredi communities.

Some Haredi people don't go to work because they believe that their time is better spent studying religious texts and teaching their children to do the same. They might get support from the government or their community to live this way.

Haredi people might seem a bit different to other people because of the way they live their lives, but it's important to remember that everyone has their own beliefs and ways of living.
