HashClash

Okay kiddo, so have you ever played a matching game where you have to find two pictures that look the same? That's kind of like what a hashclash is.

A hash is like a special puzzle piece that represents some piece of information like a file or message. And just like how every puzzle piece fits together with a certain other piece, every hash has a corresponding matching hash that goes with it.

But sometimes, people try to cheat by making two different pieces of information (like two pictures) that have the same hash puzzle piece. That's called a hashclash. It's kind of like if you tried to put two different puzzle pieces together even though they didn't really match.

It might not seem like a big deal, but in certain situations (like digital signatures or online security), making fake hashclashes can cause big problems. So people who design and use hash puzzles have to be really careful to make sure they're not too easy to cheat with hashclashes.
