So, Hayabusa is a very special spaceship made by some very smart people in Japan. It's a bit like a car, but instead of driving on roads, it flies up really high into space!
Now, you know how when you play with your toy airplane? The airplane has a wing so it can fly. The spaceship also has wings, but they are different – they are shaped like solar panels.
The sun is incredibly bright and gives off lots of energy, which is called solar power. The solar panels on the spaceship soak up this energy like a sponge, and the energy helps the spaceship to move and do its work.
Hayabusa's job is to visit other little rocks in space (we call them asteroids) and to learn more about them. The spaceship has special instruments called cameras and scoops that help it to pick up pieces of the asteroids and take pictures of them.
The spaceship also has a special talent – it can collect dust that floats around in space! Hayabusa uses a special tool called a sampler horn to pick up some of the dust and rocks that are on the asteroid's surface. Once it has picked up the samples, it stores them in a special capsule and brings them back safely to Earth.
Isn't that amazing? Even though it is very far away, Hayabusa can help us learn more about the universe and the different things in it.
