ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Healthism

Okay kiddo, let me try to explain what healthism means to you. So, you know how we have to eat healthy, exercise and take care of our bodies, right? That's because we want to be healthy and live a long, happy life. But sometimes, people take it too far and start to think that being healthy is the most important thing in the world. They start to judge others who aren't as healthy as they are and think that if you're not healthy, you're a bad person.

This is called healthism. It's when people become obsessed with being healthy and start to believe that it's the only way to live. They may think that everyone should be just like them and anything else is bad. They might even go so far as to make others feel bad for not being as healthy as they are, like not eating the right foods or not exercising enough.

But the thing is, being healthy is important, but it's not the only thing that matters. We should strive to take care of ourselves and our bodies, but we should also remember that everyone is different and has different needs. We should celebrate our differences and not judge others for not being exactly like us.

So, in summary, healthism is when someone becomes obsessed with being healthy and starts to judge others who aren't as healthy as they are. But, it's important to remember that being healthy is important, but it's not the only thing that matters, and we should embrace each other's differences.
