Hebraization of English is the act of changing English words to make them sound like Hebrew words. This can mean changing the spelling of the English word (e.g. changing "phone" to "fon") or adding Hebrew letters to make the word sound more like a Hebrew word (e.g. changing "Carmel" to "Karmel"). Hebraization of English is used in some areas of Jewish culture so that words with Jewish roots can be more easily remembered and used.
