ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hebrew braille

Hebrew Braille is a special way of writing the Hebrew language so that people who are blind or visually impaired can read it with their fingers instead of their eyes.

Imagine you have a book with raised bumps on the pages instead of letters you can see. Each bump stands for a different letter in the Hebrew alphabet. For example, the first letter is "א" and it feels like one bump on the page. The second letter is "ב" and it has two bumps on top of each other.

These raised bumps are arranged in different combinations to form words and sentences, just like regular writing. But instead of using your eyes to see the letters, you use your fingers to feel the bumps and decode the message.

So if you ever meet someone who reads Hebrew Braille, you'll know that they can "see" the letters with their hands instead of their eyes, and that's pretty amazing.
