Hectograph

A hectograph is a special type of printing technology that can create copies of a picture or a text. Think of it as a magic marker that can copy what you write, but a lot more times!

To use a hectograph, you need a master copy of the picture or text you want to duplicate. This master copy is made using special ink and paper that can transfer the image onto a gelatin pad. The gelatin pad is like a soft sticker that the ink can stick to.

Once you have the master copy and the gelatin pad with the ink on it, you press the master copy onto the gelatin pad. The ink from the pad will stick to the paper and create a copy of the master copy.

You can keep repeating this process to make multiple copies. Each time you press the master copy onto the gelatin pad, the ink will transfer and create a new copy.

This is a simple way to make lots of copies without needing a fancy copy machine or printer. Hectographs were commonly used in the past to create flyers, newsletters, and other printed materials.
