ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Herbrandization

Herbrandization is like a game of matching. Imagine you have some words like "cat," "dog," and "bird." You also have some sentences like "I have a cat," "The dog barked," and "The bird flew."

Now imagine you want to match the words with the sentences, but it's really hard because there are different types of animals and actions.

Herbrandization helps make it easier. First, you make a list of all the words and their variations (like "cats" and "cat's"). Then, you replace any variables or unknowns in the sentences with those words.

So now, "I have a cat" becomes "I have a cat," "The dog barked" becomes "The dog barked," and "The bird flew" becomes "The bird flew."

This way, you can match the words with the sentences more easily. It's kind of like playing memory match or putting together a puzzle.
