ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hermitian structure

Okay kiddo, so imagine you have a friend who always wants to play a game with you, but they only play by a very special set of rules. These rules are called the Hermitian structure.

Now, imagine you are playing a game where you have a board with different squares on it. Each square is like a house, and inside each house there are special numbers that you need to add or subtract based on the Hermitian structure.

The Hermitian structure is like a set of clues telling you which houses you need to go into, and what numbers you need to use. But it's not just any set of clues, it has to follow certain rules.

One of these rules is that the numbers you use in one house have to be related to the numbers in the other houses in a very special way. For example, if you add the numbers in one house, and then subtract the numbers in another house, you should get the same result as if you subtract the numbers in the first house and add the numbers in the second house. This relationship is called the Hermitian property.

So basically, the Hermitian structure is like a very special set of rules for a game you play with numbers. And it's important to follow these rules so you can solve puzzles and do cool things with math.
