Heteroscedasticity is a very big and fancy word that means some things are different and some things are the same.
Imagine you and your friend are playing a game where you are throwing a ball to each other. If your friend is always throwing the ball the same way and at the same speed, then everything is the same and there is no heteroscedasticity.
But if your friend is sometimes throwing the ball really hard and other times throwing it really softly, then things are different and there is heteroscedasticity.
This same idea can happen when we are studying something in science or trying to predict something in math. Sometimes the things we are studying or predicting can have differences in them, and that's called heteroscedasticity.
