Hieros gamos

Hieros gamos is a ceremony from ancient Greece. This ceremony was when two people (usually a man and a woman) got married. During the ceremony, they would perform certain rituals and exchange objects, like rings, to show they were getting married. The ceremony was thought to connect the couple with the gods and make their marriage blessed by the gods.
