High Altitude Venus Operational Concept

High Altitude Venus Operational Concept (HAVOC) is a way of studying Venus from high up in the sky. It's like sending a plane or balloon very high in the atmosphere of Venus- high enough to be above most of the clouds, so we can get a better view of the planet's surface. To do this, NASA is developing a special plane or balloon that can fly at such high altitudes and take pictures and measurements of the planet's atmosphere and surface. Scientists study these observations to learn more about Venus so they can have a better understanding of how it works.
