High Plains (United States)

The high plains are a big flat area in the United States that looks like a giant pancake with no syrup on it. This area is found in the middle of our country and is known for having a lot of grass and big cows that like to eat the grass.

The high plains have something called a "continental climate", which means that it can get really hot during the day and really cold at night. It's kind of like when you take your jacket off during the day because you're hot, but then you need to put it back on at night because it gets really chilly.

Lots of grown-ups who live in the high plains grow a lot of crops and raise a lot of cows because the big area gives them plenty of space to do it. They also use big machines called "tractors" to help them plant their crops and take care of their cows.

Overall, the high plains are a big flat area in the middle of the US where people grow crops and raise cows. It can get very hot during the day and very cold at night because of something called a "continental climate".
