Hilbert modular surface

Okay little one, so you know there are different shapes like circles, squares and triangles, right? Well, there are also some really cool shapes in math that are called surfaces. One of these surfaces is called the Hilbert modular surface.

This surface is a bit different from the shapes you know, because it has multiple layers. Imagine you have a cake with different layers of sponge and cream, well that's what the Hilbert modular surface looks like, except it's made of numbers and equations!

The Hilbert modular surface is actually created by using something called a complex number. Now don't worry, complex numbers are not scary, they are just like regular numbers but with some extra math flavor. These complex numbers are very important in the Hilbert modular surface because they help make it look so pretty!

Now, why is it called the Hilbert modular surface? That's because it was named after a very famous mathematician called David Hilbert. He was really smart and made a lot of important contributions to math, including the Hilbert modular surface.

So, to sum it up, the Hilbert modular surface is a really cool math surface made of complex numbers and equations that was named after a super smart mathematician named David Hilbert.
