Hip hop and social injustice

Hip hop is a type of music that often speaks about things that are happening in the world around us, like social injustice. Social injustice means that some people don't get the same rights and respect that everyone should have. This can show up in how some people are treated more unfairly than others because of the color of their skin, their religion, or the place they live. Hip hop is a way for musicians, or rappers, to talk about these issues and to try to make things better. Rappers often write songs about their experiences and the problems they've seen, in hopes that things will get better for everyone.
