ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hiraeth

Hiraeth is a Welsh word that doesn't have an exact English translation. It's a longing for a place that you can't return to. It’s a yearning for a home that does not exist anymore, or maybe never existed at all. Hiraeth is a feeling of comfort and belonging for something that is no longer there. It's a kind of sadness and nostalgia that is difficult to put into words.
