ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Histadrut

Histadrut is a big group of workers in Israel who work together to make sure they are treated fairly and get the things they need to live a good life. It's kind of like a big team of friends who all work in different places, like factories and offices and stores, and they all join the Histadrut so they can help each other out.

When the workers join the Histadrut, they pay a little bit of money each month, kind of like a club membership fee. This money helps the Histadrut to do things like negotiate with bosses to make sure the workers get good pay and safe working conditions. It also helps the Histadrut to provide other services for the workers, like healthcare and education.

The Histadrut started a long time ago, way back when Israel became a country in 1948. It was kind of like a big idea that people had to help all the workers in Israel to be treated well and have a good life. Over time, more and more workers joined the Histadrut, and it became a really big and important part of Israeli society.

So, basically, the Histadrut is like a big group of workers in Israel who work together to make sure they get treated fairly and have everything they need to live a good life. It's like a big team of friends who all help each other out and make sure everyone is happy and healthy.
