Historical racial and ethnic demographics of the United States

In the United States, racial and ethnic demographics change over time. This means the population (how many people live in a particular place) isn't always the same. For example, a long time ago, most people living in the United States were Europeans. Over time, more people from different parts of the world came to the United States and the population became more diverse (made up of different races and cultures). Today, the United States is made up of people from many different backgrounds. People have different skin colors, cultures, languages, and beliefs.
