So, do you know what a region is? It's like a big area of land that has something in common. For example, a region might have the same language, culture or history.
Central Europe is a part of Europe that is in the middle of the continent. It includes countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
Now, back in history, people didn't have countries like we do now. Instead, there were lots of different groups of people who lived in different parts of central Europe. These people were called tribes.
Each tribe had its own way of life, language and culture. But sometimes they would come together to form bigger groups that would fight against other groups.
Over time, these tribes and groups changed and evolved into different kingdoms, empires and countries that we know today.
But even though they are countries now, some of the regions in central Europe still have a strong cultural and historical identity. For example, Bavaria in Germany is known for its traditional food and clothing, while Bohemia in the Czech Republic is famous for its beautiful castles and preserved medieval towns.
So, historical regions of central Europe means the parts of central Europe that have a shared culture or history that goes back a long time.
