History of American comics

Alright kiddo, comics are like stories but with pictures that make them more fun. American comics have been around for a really long time, since the early 1900s!

At first, they were just silly little cartoons that people would draw for newspapers or magazines. But then, some people started putting together comic books - they would print a bunch of different comics in one book.

One of the most famous comic book characters is Superman. He was created in 1938 and he was a superhero who could fly and had all sorts of amazing powers. People loved him!

After that, lots of other superheroes started popping up in comics - Batman, Spider-man, Wonder Woman, and lots more. There were also comics about regular people and their everyday lives.

Sometimes, comics would be controversial because they would talk about things like violence or sex. But over time, people started to see comics as a real art form, not just silly stories.

Nowadays, comics are still really popular! There are lots of different types, like superhero comics, funny comics, serious comics, and more. People still love to read them and see the pictures in them. It's been a long journey, but that's the history of American comics!
