History of Burgundy

Burgundy is a place in France where they make really delicious wine. But did you know that it wasn't always just a place for making wine? A long, long time ago, Burgundy was actually a kingdom ruled by a powerful king named Charles the Bold. He was really rich and had lots of castles and fancy things.

But then a lady named Mary married into the Burgundy family and she was really important because she united two big families and made them even more powerful. However, some other people didn't like that she had so much power and tried to fight against her. This was a big battle called the "Battle of Nancy" and unfortunately Mary's side lost and she passed away.

After that, Burgundy became a part of France and it still is today. Nowadays, people love to visit Burgundy and taste its famous wine. So, that's the story of Burgundy from a long time ago until now.
