History of abortion

Okay, kiddo! So, a long time ago, people didn't really know how to prevent babies from growing inside a woman's tummy. When this happened and the woman didn't want to have a baby, she might have tried to end the pregnancy on her own. This was really dangerous and sometimes made the woman really sick or even die.

As people started to learn more about medicine, they figured out safer ways to end a pregnancy if it was necessary. In some places, people decide that it wasn't okay for women to choose to end a pregnancy at all. Other people believe that women should have the right to choose what they do with their own bodies.

Throughout history, laws and attitudes around abortion have changed a lot. Sometimes it was allowed, and sometimes it wasn't. Today, it's legal in some countries and not in others. There are still a lot of arguments about it!
