ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

History of bisexuality

Well, little one, bisexuality is when someone is attracted to both boys and girls. This is something that has been around for a very long time, throughout history.

In ancient Greece, it was actually pretty common for men to be attracted to both men and women. They even had a special word for it: "Bisexuality". In the early 1900s, scientists began to study sexuality more closely and began to understand bisexuality as a natural variation of human sexuality.

Unfortunately, bisexuality hasn't always been accepted by everyone. There have been times in history when people who were attracted to both genders have been treated very poorly. This is called discrimination. But people are working hard to change that and make bisexuality more accepted and understood.

Today, more and more people are coming out as bisexual and celebrating their sexuality. There are even pride parades and events to celebrate bisexuality and all its wonderful people!

So, in short, bisexuality has been around for a long time, and while it hasn't always been accepted, people are working to make it more accepted and understood.
