History of bottle recycling in the United States

Back in the olden days, people would drink drinks from glass bottles and when they were done, they would just throw the bottles away. This made a big mess and wasn't good for the Earth. Then, in the 1800s, people started to realize that they could wash and reuse glass bottles instead of throwing them away. This was called bottle recycling!

But it wasn't until the 1970s that bottle recycling really took off in the United States. People were starting to get worried about how much trash they were making and how it was hurting the Earth. So, they started making laws that said companies had to use recycled materials to make new bottles. This made people want to recycle even more so that they could help save the Earth.

Nowadays, there are special bins for recycling bottles and cans all over the place. You can put your empty bottle in the bin and it gets taken to a special factory where it can be turned into something new, like a carpet or even another bottle! So, remember to always recycle your bottles so we can all help save the Earth together!
