ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

History of personal computers

Personal computers are machines that you can use to do things like play games, type documents, and communicate with people over the internet. They have been around since the 1970s, when a man named Steve Jobs and two of his friends came up with the idea to make a type of computer that people could own and use in their own homes. They invented the Apple II computer, which was the first successful personal computer. It had its own keyboard, a small monitor, and built-in software.

Since then, personal computers have become much better and more powerful. They can do things like store large amounts of information, help you find information on the internet, and communicate with thousands of people all over the world.

Personal computers have changed the way people live. Instead of having to go to the library to do research, people can now do research from the comfort of their own homes. People can also shop and compare prices online, and even buy products online without having to leave their homes.
