History of science and technology in the Indian subcontinent

In ancient times, people who lived in a place that is now known as the Indian subcontinent were very curious and smart. They asked questions about the world around them and started to discover new things.

One really famous person from this time was Aryabhata. He was a mathematician and astronomer who lived in India around 500 CE (a long, long time ago!). Aryabhata came up with amazing ideas about numbers and the way the planets move in space.

Another person who was really important was Charaka. He was a doctor and he wrote a book about medicine and health called the Charaka Samhita. This book talked about how to stay healthy and what to do when you get sick.

There were also some really cool inventions that happened in India. For example, there was the wheel, which made it easier to travel, and the number zero, which is very important in mathematics. There was also silk, which is a type of fabric made from the cocoon of a silkworm.

Later on, people in India started to make even more amazing discoveries. They invented ways to measure time, they figured out how to make steel, and they even built big stone temples that are still standing today!

Overall, people in the Indian subcontinent have been really curious and smart for a very, very long time. They have made so many important discoveries and inventions that still impact the world today.
