History of silk

Silk is a special kind of fabric that is made from the things that a very special kind of big bug makes. The bug is called a "silkworm" and it comes from a place called China. For hundreds and hundreds of years, people in China have been collecting the things the silkworms make and turning them into fabric. They crop the fabric into pieces, use special dyes to give it colors and patterns, then sew it into clothes. Silk fabric is super soft and smooth, so it's very comfortable and looks really nice. Silk has been worn by kings and queens, presidents, and famous people for centuries!
